I always found the ‘see you in a year‘ joke funny. Yes, it is not technically 365 days, but you say goodbye on 2013 and hello on 2014: funny.
For the first time I am not looking back at the year in a critical way. I do not examine what I have not yet achieved, I celebrate the things I have accomplished. I look at the future with equal measures of uncertainty and excitement, adult weariness and childish expectations, a mix of the old and the new.
I am that mix of the old and the new, and I cherish this. I cherish the year that passed, looking forward to the one that is coming, and trying as hard as I can to live in the now, the moment, the present.
So, I guess this is it for 2013. I will see you in a year, and I hope and wish it will be a magnificent one.
